I’m not a millionaire. You probably aren’t either. (If you are, though, that’s cool.)

On top of my non-millionaire status, I’m also (mostly) unemployed. There is no regular paycheck in my world. My job as Mom, however, requires a fair amount of spending.

As a non-millionaire with a disproportionate earning/spending ratio, I used to feel helpless when it came to donating money. I wondered how I could make any kind of impact. Then I met GiveBack.

Back in the fall.

And did nothing with it.

I have no idea why I didn’t act sooner. Regular readers know I’m prone to analysis paralysis. I’m sure we could explore my procrastination issues in great detail, but let’s not. Instead, let’s focus on what’s happening now.

GiveBack allows individuals to set up their own foundations, and you don’t even need cash to do so. Hear that non-millionaires? No cash needed. You create an account, select charities to follow, and fund your account by shopping at your favorite online stores. When you do have a few extra dollars, though, you can also fund your account with cash donations.

It gets better.

Through July 17 GiveBack is sponsoring a 100 Days of GiveBack Campaign: one member per day will win $1000 to give to a charity of their choosing. At the end of the campaign, the person with the most Impact Points will win $50,000 for their foundation. As a member of both GiveBack and the One2One Network, I am participating in a social media campaign to spread the word about this opportunity.

This is my personal Give Back Link: http://bit.ly/mxmQuP If you click through and sign up for your own account (which you will, because all the cool kids are doing it), I’ll get some Impact Points. I’m just 21,600 points shy of the current leader. Help a girl out?

That’s not all.

I was not required to write a blog post for this campaign, but I started thinking… Wouldn’t it be cool to do just a little more? I’m committed to utilizing GiveBack to do more of my online shopping, and while shopping is fantastic, I think I – we – can do even more.

Here’s the scoop:

Part 1 – For every comment on this post, I will donate $1 to my GiveBack Foundation. (Some fine print stuff: Up to 100 comments/$100.) Proof of donation will be provided in a future post.

But wait, there’s more…

Part 2 – Two (2) readers will win $50 donations to the charity of their choice. I will make the donation directly to the charity* through my personal GiveBack Foundation.

What are you waiting for?

Click here, set up an account, then come back and tell me all about it. You might win $50 for your favorite charity!

The fine print:

Contest closes on July 16, 2011. You must have a GiveBack Foundation to be eligible, and leave one (1) comment below. In your comment, please leave the link to your GiveBack Foundation and tell me about your favorite charity. One entry/comment per person. All duplicate comments will be deleted. I reserve the right to delete any comments that do not qualify – and I reserve the right to define qualify any way I choose.

* At this time, it’s not possible to deposit funds into another person’s foundation. Therefore, I’ll make the donations directly to the charitable organization.
