We discovered on our weekend with our son and our two godchildren that we are not good at having multiple children in our home all at once. Our nerves were frayed!

My entire family, despite being highly intelligent individuals, still doesn’t manage to understand that food doesn’t magically prepare itself. At about 4 pm each day, I tell them what we are having for dinner. At 4:05, I’m expected to do one or more of the following: a) help with homework, b) locate two or more articles of clothing, c) watch a movie, d) join someone for a drink, e) help with home construction projects that just cropped up. Then they wonder why I’m screaming.
