Puppies are hard work. No eye rolling here. I’m throwing a ball as I type (actually between thoughts) because our 2yo doxie pup will otherwise bark incessantly at me. So yes, I tell the kids no balls in the house, but a bevy of balls lives under my desk and are thrown instinctively every time I sit down. So my wish for you: that your pup does not pick up retrieving. Seems like a cute party trick until you are trying to type a coherent sentence with one hand.

Cute puppy! And, they ARE totally a lot of work. We adopted a puppy over the summer (we named her Piper!) and the first three months were horrible, honestly they were. She chewed everything. She nipped at us all the time and was so hyper. I really started to rethink our decision and wonder what we had gotten ourselves into. But, now that she’s gotten a little older (she’s now about 9.5 months old) she is so much better. I actually like her now, LOL!

Since I’m about 8 weeks ahead of you in the new dog process I held off on telling you a few weeks ago how freaking exhausting they are. And I don’t have a pup..our dog is 2. When we had house trained her., she got a UTI for a week.

Won’t even go into the financial and emotional toll that took on me, with her peeing and pooping worse than before. But, overall we got a great dog. And we all love her. If I could put slippers on her feet to stop her from destroying my gorgeous new hardwood floors, all would be perfect!!

BRW I’d bet my life your dog is mostly schnauzer, in case you want to read up.

We’re in the puppy place too and even though I’ve recently had kids, I found the kids more exhausting but easier. I think diapers plays a big part of this opinion.

A puppy is like having a baby, isn’t it? I am tired enough without adding puppy to the mix, although I love dogs!
What do you do with compression socks?
