The realization that he hears everything we say was eye opening. He told me himself, “mom, I remember everything. If you said it, I remember it.” I thought, oh crap. 😉 My husband and I have come to the conclusion that as soon as he can spell we will never have a conversation during his waking ours again.

Love it. Sarcasm is so tricky with kids. We have to remind ourselves that the 1-yr-old does not get it!

I now have a 4-yr.-old who says, “Nice, Missy,” in a super sarcastic tone. Every time my husband does something goofy, I apparently say, “nice” and now the boy says it, too. ALL. DAY. LONG. In response to almost everything we say… I’m trying to curb him before school starts!

We are now beginning to explore the world of sarcasm in our house. They sort of understand what it means, but now think that EVERYTHING I say is sarcastic. So I can say “Wow, that dress looks nice on you.” and they say “are you being SARTASTIC?”

Maybe I just sound “sartastic” all the time. I should tape myself.
