I am a little late, but isn't this true in everyone's house that has kiddos? My guess is that during the day they are overstimulated and entertained by everything around them...TV, radio, video games. They are constantly entertained during the day. Then, when their cute little heads hit the pillow and there is nothing to keep their attention, their brains don't quite know what to do. They don't dream of sleep like we do....but soon enough they will be teenagers and we can't drag their hinies out of slumber! :) love your site, Missy!

I can't really speak to the child thing, as I have none. BUT I say absolutely Netflix is a verb. Like google! I pretty much turn all nouns into either a verb or adjective. As in "I facebooked him" or "You look so Sex and the City."

In reply to <a href="https://missystevenswrites.com/how-to-play-along#comment-65">Cheryl</a>.

Hi everyone - thanks for the comments & questions. So glad to know I'm not alone in being scared to death by my own children (and cats!). I'm also a fan of being startled awake by a little face centimeters from my own.

Thanks for playing along today! See you next week?!

Fun! My kids always scare the pants out of me. Like I'll think they're asleep and I'll walk down the hall and there one will be. GAH!

Not sure how this works for kids but it sure works for cats...ever noticed how a cat can sound like a buffalo or a thought depending on its intent? Perhaps kids & cats have some wavelength in common.

So I went hmmmmmmmmmmmm for about three minutes while I did my little research and then "pop" the light bulb lit up and I followed your question!! Yeah I have made progress! So why is it that they are at *11 all day and then at night just simply move about without being heard . . . well children are part alien and we all know that aliens run on batteries!! Fully charged in the morning and then they wear the battery down all day long until finally they lie still and then the battery just charges right up again!! Tip: To keep the alien in bed prior to the battery being worn down duct tape the little alien to its bed!
