We need to get Piper and Bailey together.
Because tiny dried up worms are terrifying.

(Is it weird that I didn't think any of your weird things were that weird? We might be soul mates. At the very least, I would never stare at you in bewilderment.)

I walk my dogs at, like 5 in the morning . . . so I never see anyone then. Typically, at work, I'm a "get in, do my thing, head home" guy. The only place I really socialize with people, aside form online or with my kids, is at the gym -- and there, it's a few words to some of the regulars at the start or end of one of our workouts. Most of them, I don't even know their names (partly because it's somewhat awkward to ask someone his name while he or you are naked and about to get into/out of the shower).

The other day, I had to comment to a woman at the gym, though (obviously, neither of us were naked . . . damn societal norms and lack of coed locker rooms). She's someone who manages HOURS of cardio during her workouts . . . so I wanted to say that she crossed my mind during my last marathon: "That skinny thing wouldn't give up now!" was the motivational call that I had going on in my head. I just meant a quick hello - but it turned into a long, drawn-out conversation . . . which was all cool & stuff, but I certainly didn't mean to sit down to talk to her & interrupt both of our workouts. See, I ALWAYS think everyone is as busy as me, so I never want to get in the way.

Lastly, Wait Wait, Radio Lab, and This American Life are my cycle of podcasts between audiobooks. I catch up with those three, then start my next audiobook . . . that's what I'm always listening to, be in in the car or at the gym.

This is so very funny. I laughed out loud several times and learned that I need to start listening to podcasts. And you are so right about the dog people. Mine is telling me right now that she thinks it's time for second breakfast.
